Selling personalised prints at craft fairs and markets

Markets are where personalised prints sell themselves. People stop to watch a printer working, they pick up samples, and the moment they see their own name it becomes a gift they want. A good market day also fills your order book for the weeks after.

Bring a printer, if you can

A printer running at the stall is the best display you can have. Print small, quick items on the day, such as name keychains, and take orders for anything bigger to post later. Bring a power strip, a stable table and spare filament in your best-selling colours.

Display finished samples at hand height

Lay samples where people can pick them up. Group them by occasion (gifts, school, office) rather than by product. Add a few with common local names; people love finding their own.

Make ordering a two-minute job

Keep a tablet or phone at the stall with STLmint open. Type the buyer's name, show them the picture, and let them pick a lettering style. They see the result before paying, and you avoid misspellings.

For printing on the spot, download the file and send it to the printer. For later orders, note the buyer's contact details and copy the studio link: the whole design lives in it, so it opens exactly as you left it when you are back home.

Price for quick decisions

Market buyers decide in seconds. Use round prices, show them clearly, and offer a simple bundle (for example, a lower price for two). Accept card and phone payments.

Collect contacts for later

Many visitors will not buy on the day but will want one for a birthday next month. Hand out cards with your social handle and an order link, and offer to message a picture of their design later.

Follow up within a week

After the market, post photos of the stall and the orders you made, and message everyone who asked for a picture. The days after a market often bring as many orders as the day itself.

Take your next custom order in minutes

Type your customer's text, send them a picture to approve, download a print-ready file.
